This fast and efficient deep-section carbon fibre wheelset features a rim shape that aerodynamically integrates wider tubeless tyres for high-performance road cycling. The benefits of tubeless include superior flat protection, the ability to run lower pressures and a smoother ride with high cornering grip and low rolling resistance. Also, you get the wider tyre options and increased stopping power of disc brakes.
The 808 NSW Tubeless Disc brake wheelset is optimised for smoother pavement and is aerodynamically optimized for 25mm tyres. By extending Zipp's patented ABLC™ Sawtooth™ dimples all the way to the rim’s edge on each of the wheels, NSW disc brake rims deliver higher frequency wind vortex shedding for best-in-class crosswind stability. This wheelset allows you to run tubeless or traditional clinchers and Zipp’s new wheel cosmetics make this wheelset a perfect pairing of speed and style.
Updated Zipp graphics and cosmetics that scream speed, applied using Zipp’s ImPress™ direct-print technology to help allow the dimples to do what they were designed to do – improve aero performance
An all-out aero 82mm rim profile that’s tubeless ready for increased speed and better cornering, control, and comfort
Cognition™ DB hubset with Axial Clutch™ technology provides reduced drag when coasting
ABLC Sawtooth dimple design helps manage air flow around the rim, and contributes to create a faster, more stable wheel
Centerlock rotor interface, Lockring is included
Ships with 12mm front and rear end caps
Campagnolo driver body sold separately
Zipp wheels, handlebars, stems and seatposts come with a lifetime warranty for product issues while riding. The lifetime warranty is not transferrable. Proof of purchase is required.
Impress
Zipp has employed its ImPress graphics technology, which prints graphics directly on the wheel, to help allow the dimples to do what they were designed to do – help control vortex shedding, the rate at which air sheds off the wheel. Managing this is crucial to stability. ImPress graphics also give 808 NSW a distinctive stealthy look.
Axial Clutch
With Cognition’s Axial Clutch technology, riders can maintain speed through corners that don’t require braking input, thereby increasing corner exit speeds. Inside the Axial Clutch mechanism, Zipp uses magnets, rather than steel springs, to move and engage its lightweight Metal Injection Molded (MIM) ratchet rings for unmatched reliability and consistent operation. With 36 points of engagement that all interlock simultaneously, there isn’t a more secure freehub mechanism on the market.
Cognition Hubset
With the Cognition hubset’s Axial Clutch technology, Zipp has reduced this drag by disengaging the ratchet mechanism when coasting. So you can approach corners at higher speeds, and ultimately, save time. A star-flanged straight-pull hubshell design on the rear hub distributes the load placed on the hub flange away from the bearings. Zipp has also developed a unique scalloped edge hubshell design for its front hub. This scalloped design maintains the bearing bore diameter when high radial spoke tension is applied. That means you get bearings that quietly stay in place, roll faster, last longer, and provide a laterally stiffer hub.
ABLC Sawtooth
Zipp’s Sawtooth dimple design consists of 12 nodes that are specifically clocked to start aerodynamic shearing at a rate of 50hz at a rider speed of 20mph. Sawtooth accomplishes this by inducing small sheet vortices that shed at a low magnitude, but at a higher natural frequency, thus decreasing the laminar bubble effect on the aerodynamically shielded side of the rim’s profile to further reduce high yaw drag and improve crosswind stability.
