This bike comes setup fixed single-speed as standard, but if this is not your style or you prefer a different gearing for a specific task, then you can easily modify the ride characteristics of this bike. To do so, simply remove the rear wheel, flip the 'flip-flop' rear wheel in the frame dropouts, equip it with a freewheel gearing-ratio of your choice and mount the supplied caliper brakes to the frame for urban riding dominance.
Inspired by Six Day Racing and the Red Hook criterium series where exceptional racing efficiency and control are essential, this bike has track bike geometry, is constructed from double-butted aluminium and is equipped with an all-aluminium fork with a tapered steerer and 45mm rake. This bike build provides exceptional power-delivery and confidence-inspiring stability as you crank up immense acceleration and steer with utmost precision, beneficial on the race track or for darting around the city centre.
The Vitus Six delivers superb aerodynamic performance and has excellent low-profile internal rear brake cable routing and it comes supplied with blanking plates for covering the internal routing holes if you ride fixed/brake-less. These fantastic wheels feature 43mm deep Vitus Aero rims, which add to this bike aerodynamic efficiency. Additionally, they feature a durable braking surface and a flip-flop rear hub, so you can choose to ride fixed single-speed or with a freewheel. This bike excels on the race track and when out on the road with elegance and outstanding efficiency.

First emerging as a frame builder in 1970s France, Vitus Bikes played a pivotal role in pioneering the design and manufacture of lugged and bonded aluminium frames, the most iconic being the 979, groundbreaking at the time and still prized among collectors today. In 1982 we engineered and developed the 979 Carbone, one of the very first frames to take carbon fibre technology from the aerospace industry and apply it to bikes. Their tradition of innovation continued throughout subsequent decades with frames which included the 1991 ZXI monocoque carbon frame, the spirit of which lives on in their latest generation of monocoque road bikes. Without exception, each of the bikes – from their singlespeed commuter to the high-end carbon road model – won plaudits for their ride quality, build and great value. The reviews confirmed what they knew all along, and they intend to improve on these already test-winning models as Vitus push forward with the development of this great brand of bikes. “Credit has to be due to a brand that has come back from the ashes and rather than milk the prestige of the old days, has set its sights on the biggest players on the scene.” CYCLIST magazine. Vitus bikes have been tested in many of the top cycling titles and websites across all disciplines. Their bikes have won group tests across Europe and are regarded as some of the best on the market.

Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
