The tough and light triple-butted 6061-T6 alloy frame is paired with a full carbon fork for responsive handling, which makes Vitus' Energie VR Cyclo X Bike a reliable operator. A 27.2mm seatpost improves comfort, whilst the dialled-in geometry of a longer top tube and shorter stem work together to improve handling, something you'll be grateful of on tight and technical courses or navigating built-up areas on your commute.
The Energie VR Cyclo X Bike comes equipped with a reliable drivetrain, built around SRAM's Rival 1 groupset, including Rival hydraulic disc brakes, as well as a WTB STPi23/Novatec wheelset and WTB CrossBoss 35c tyres. Vitus' own finishing kit completes the package for this aluminium cyclocross bike. Bottle cage mounts have been added along with mudguard mounts to expand the potential for all year multi-purpose use.
The cyclocross specific frameset has increased tyre and mud clearance for large cyclocross tyres. Cable routing is specifically designed to prevent ingress of mud and water and to increase comfort when shouldering the bike during cyclocross race situations. The high-modulus T700 HM-UD full carbon fork features a tapered carbon steerer and beefed-up blades with 12mm through axle configuration to ensure precise tracking and steering with the ability to handle the rigours of competitive cyclocross racing.

First emerging as a frame builder in 1970s France, Vitus Bikes played a pivotal role in pioneering the design and manufacture of lugged and bonded aluminium frames, the most iconic being the 979, groundbreaking at the time and still prized among collectors today. In 1982 we engineered and developed the 979 Carbone, one of the very first frames to take carbon fibre technology from the aerospace industry and apply it to bikes. Their tradition of innovation continued throughout subsequent decades with frames which included the 1991 ZXI monocoque carbon frame, the spirit of which lives on in their latest generation of monocoque road bikes. Without exception, each of the bikes – from their singlespeed commuter to the high-end carbon road model – won plaudits for their ride quality, build and great value. The reviews confirmed what they knew all along, and they intend to improve on these already test-winning models as Vitus push forward with the development of this great brand of bikes. “Credit has to be due to a brand that has come back from the ashes and rather than milk the prestige of the old days, has set its sights on the biggest players on the scene.” CYCLIST magazine. Vitus bikes have been tested in many of the top cycling titles and websites across all disciplines. Their bikes have won group tests across Europe and are regarded as some of the best on the market.

Getting the Right Fit
At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!
If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.
