Product Data

Tyre Bead: Folding
Clincher: Yes
Wheel Size: 700c (622)
Terrain: Tarmac
Tyre Type: Tubular
Road: Yes

Please Note: This tyre is listed as a clincher tyre, but it is a specific tyre of tyre that brings you the benefits of a tubular tyre, that is only compatible with clincher type rims. It is called a "tubular clincher" type tyre and cannot be used on tubular rims.

The thinner tread of this road bike tyre also lowers rolling resistance while the tyre is maintaining ideal shock absorption properties and high puncture resistance.

How Does the Tubular Clincher Tyre Work? When inflated, the tubular clincher (see image below), in the same way as a tubular, is pressed towards the rim. Simultaneously, the bead blocks of the profiled rubber band spread out embedding on the rim shoulders and eliminating any rotation of the tubular clincher against the rim as well as the possibility of the tubular clincher unseating. As the tubular clincher is inflated, the band side literally 'bite' into the rim shoulders. Benefits of Tufo's tubular clincher tyres: high inflation pressures - up to 15 bars (220 psi) without any damage to the rim walls, even in a case when the rim manufacturer specifies lower inflation pressures (the pressure is contained inside the tubular clincher and does not affect the rim wall), same riding quality as with tubular tyres, safe handling in case of punctures (the stability of a rider is not affected), the tubular clincher can be ridden when flat, and the fastest and easiest installation and dismantling without any tools.

About the Tufo brand

Tufo was founded in 1991, based on more than 25 years of experience in rubber tyre industry and was founded by Mr Miloslav Klabal. The basic philosophy of the company is specialisation in the development and production of tubular tyres – the best option for cycling. From the very beginning Tufo has worked hand-hand with many world champions and elite riders from all cycling disciplines. This cooperation makes the transition of theoretical knowledge from development and research into new products much easier. The top priority from Tufo is the quality of their products, therefore all the production is under direct and everyday control in the Tufo plant in the Czech republic. Most of the production is accomplished by skilled handwork making it possible to concentrate on details which is very important to achieving maximum quality.

Tufo C-Hi Composite Carbon Tubular Tyre is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bikesenuf from This Product works better than lots of tyres I have used Tubular Tyres for many years and this Tubular Clencher Tire is so much better. If you flat out it is easy to change as long as you have a spare. There is no glue holding the tyre on the rim. They wear better than Tubular Tyres and don't cost as much.

Rated 3 out of 5 by pnomatic from im sad this tire before use tufo pro c s33 pro 5000km after still good fit and handling but C-Hi ... im not sure , maybe luck but first 60.km side wall split and other tires cutting

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jonathan59 from Excellent performance training tyre Excellent grip, outstanding pressure, easy fit, puncture resistant... What more could you want? – well, OK, other than a slightly lower price! These tyres are worth the expense!

Rated 1 out of 5 by kayakboy from Two defective tires With so many positive reviews, perhaps the two tires I received were a rare bad batch. The sidewall of one tire split when initially pumped to 90 PSI. The other split from sidewall to sidewall entirely across the tread in a blowout without provocation after a small number of miles. The tire quality was entirely unsatisfactory. On the other hand, by following the instruction videos on the Tufo website, I had no significant problems installing or removing the tires from the rims. The ride felt ok on the tire I used before it blew out. NOTE: Wiggle deserves a much higher rating for its excellent service in dealing with these two defective tires.

How do you deal with punctures on tubular tires? I know that punctures are less likely, but not impossible. I'd hate to have to push my bike home.

Asked by: IanGill
buy the tufo extreme sealant. tufo say to put in in after you puncture not before. shake it well. take the valve out. put in the sealant ..put the valve back in..gas up the tyre.. rotate the wheel to check its working and away you go. much faster than changing a tube.. g.t.

Do i have to use glue or gluing tape to mount these tyres?

I can advise that these tyres are a clincher fitment and do not require glue or tape to fit.

will these fit hplusson archetypes

Will the 22's fit on a set of hplus son archetype rims?
Asked by: aberbrawler
We would not be able to confirm the 700 x 22c would fit comfortably unfortunately, however the 700 x 25c option should offer a slightly better fit.
