Rated 1 out of 5 by Tudor2671 from Long engineer repair wait. Read up on Tacx Neo Owners Facebook page first.Brands should demand that distribution centres have trained engineers for any issues. Ive had mine less than 30 days as per delivery and already Wiggle have suggested I repair myself or it goes off to a Garmin distribution plant in Europe who have very few engineers with 30 day waits on returns. Rolex give 10 days and that's with a 2 year guarantee. This isn't a throw away item.

Rated 1 out of 5 by E333 from Great for a year...and then total failure :( As many other reviewers have discovered, this trainer is great for about a year and then it just cuts out part way through a workout with no warning. Now there is no Bluetooth or ANT+ connectivity, just the cooling fan running. There was no evidence of any overheating. Whilst it is just over a year old, I only used it during the winter months and therefore to have a unit costing over a thousand pounds fail after 4 months of actual use is totally unacceptable. Issue points to shoddy workmanship in the circuit boards which turns the unit into no more than a £60 dumb trainer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ARoadCyclist from Infamous Tacx Neo Burn out Purchased the NEO 2 a year ago and after 12months the product failed. Appeared to work great for a year, and if it hadn’t failed I would be more than happy. A sudden smell of burning, immediate loss of resistance and flashing red light. A little bit of research and you soon become aware this is unfortunately a common fault. I have numerous Garmin devices and I’ve always been an advocate, however Garmin/Tacx have had my device for 2 months with no definite return date in sight! An ever increasing expected date for repair/return! Shame because when it worked, it was great! Hopefully they’ve resolved the issue when it’s finally returned (hopefully before the Summer)!

Rated 1 out of 5 by mimim from Great when it works Long term review of my Neo2 after 14 month of use on Zwift racing, free rides and structured workouts in ERG mode. I took my time to decide which smart trainer to buy and ended up making no compromises by getting the Neo 2 (the top end trainer at the time besides the Kickr). Well, I thought I made no compromises. It has been great until it overheated during a workout in early December 2020. This is the same issue many other Neo users report (burning smell, flashing red light, fan not working). I had to send it it back to Garmin, they say it needs a new resistance unit. Now I am still waiting because there is shortage of stock. I am not happy at all. Without this I would give 5 stars, but failure of a £1000 unit is not acceptable. I just hope that Garmin have a permanent fix so this issue won't occur again.

Will this trainer work with wahoo elemnt and pre planned workouts from training peaks in erg mode

Asked by: RobL12
It is perfectly compatible, the wahoo ELMENT will control the trainer. And Dancr is wrong in your case: you can switch training mode in your case from the Wahoo Elemnt and go from "workout" (where the Elemnt controls the trainer according to the plan and target wattage -> Erg mode) to "level" (you choose a level of difficulty) to "resistance (you choose a %) to "controlled by an external App" in case you're using the tacx app to control the trainer but want the data displayed on the Elemnt. "Level", "resistance" and "external" are no Erg mode, so if the workout is too dofficult...you can switch to those modes and change gears. And I'm pretty sure (but need to check) that even in workout mode, you can lower the difficulty from the Wahoo Elemnt.

gear set up

I don't know much about how all these work. If I am flipping between my wheel (obviously with cassette attached) and the cassette in the trainer, will it influence how my gearing needs to be set up? For reference, I'm running Campag Potenza with 11-32 sprocket cassette.
Asked by: DoctorGee
Since the Neo comes with no cassette the best thing would be to get the same cassette you use on your bike https://support.tacx.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000457429-Installation-compatibility but you should read the bit at the bottom the Potenza might not be suitable for the Neo or Neo 2

What do I need to order to make campag compatible

I wish to buy a tacs neo (the older one, not the T2) What do I need to order to make it compatible with a campag bike. Best Joanne
Asked by: JoeLD11111
I can confirm that you will require the Campagnolo freehub body "T2805.51 CAMPAGNOLO"; https://tacx.com/product/bodies-direct-drive-trainers/

Pedal sensors

On the details it says pedal sensors record the power on each side. Are these included? I never saw any in the box and the manuals are pretty rubbish!
Asked by: tiwi
The power is calculated through the trainer itself when peddling. You will be able to use additional aftermarket power meters alongside this trainer for a more accurate power output reading.

is this compatible with 12mm through bolts or do i need some kind of adapter?

Asked by: tv157
These trainers are compatible with Bolt thru axles. However we do not sell them. They can be purchased directly through Tacx though. https://tacx.com/product/e-thru-trainer-axle/

Sram 12 MTB

The site says these are SRAM 12 compatible. So will this accept my 12x142 12 speed Eagle MTB gearing on my Epic? Thanks
Asked by: RON816
This will fit with 12 speed but you will have to buy a compatible XD Driver plus 12 x 142 axle as extras.
