Stages power meters are tour-proven, having carried three Tour De France winners and championship winners to victory. This single-sided power meter works with all Shimano road drivetrains and the sensor provides an accuracy of within +/- 2%
Built on to a Shimano's top-of-the-line Dura-Ace R9100 non-drive side crank arm, the Stages Gen 2 sensor is individually calibrated to ensure its accuracy. Stages produce power meters that both avid amateurs and professionals at the top of their game can trust.
To ensure consistency of measurement, Stages introduced a world-first feature to its power meters. This feature is called “Active temperature Compensation” and it is built in as standard to account for sudden temperature changes, which if not accounted for, would result in false and inaccurate data.
Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, with a manufacturing and R&D base in Boulder, Colorado, Stages Cycling came to market in 2012 to completely blow the category of power measurement apart. Six World Championships and less than a year later, the world’s most data-driven, obsessive, professional cycling team, Team Sky, chose to exclusively ride Stages Power meters to victory in the most grueling professional cycling races in the world including the world time-trial championships. Taking everything we learned from the indoor meter, the team applied it to our experience in outdoor cycling. For the first time in decades, we revolutionized the power measurement process, and ultimately released a high-tech product at an industry leading price. We added Bluetooth, so the meter could be easily updated with contemporary firmware. We pioneered Active Temperature Compensation, keeping the meter accurate despite changing climates, and without the need to stop pedaling. Finally, we used an accelerometer to measure cadence—something our competition said was impossible—eliminating the need for any external sensors or cables. The result was a product that set trends, at a price like no one had ever seen in the power meter market. Today, Stages Power meters are still designed and assembled in Boulder, Colorado—the endurance sport mecca of the world—and are the official power meter of the world’s best road, mountain, triathlon, bmx, and motocross cyclists.
