At the heart of the SRAM Eagle 12-Speed drivetrain is the Eagle line of high-performance chains. This chain ensures exceptional compatibility, shifting performance and reliability with all Eagle drivetrains.

An official Eagle 12-Speed chain guarantees smooth, silent and efficient transmission performance for every pedal rotation, gear change and every second riding on the side of the mountains.
Ultra-smooth chain inner-plates are completely devoid of square edges, resulting in a chain that engages the cassette and chainring with far less friction, for quieter performance and better wear life. The design allows a narrower overall profile and a flatter outer-plate that can withstand greater shifting angles. This means more consistent chain riveting and enhanced overall strength is achieved.
SRAM chain engineers developed PowerLock as a tool free and consistent way to connect mountain bike chains. While PowerLock does not require special tools for installation, the especially tight tolerances of 10, 11 and 12-Speed drivetrains mandate that each PowerLock is good for a one-time application only.
This optimised cassette technology, which has been custom designed for the Eagle drivetrain is the next generation of X-Glide shifting. It provides quick, precise, power-on shifting performance throughout the gear range, and increases chain retention on larger cogs.
Product manuals and service guides for all SRAM, Rockshox, Avid and Truvativ products can be found at sram.com or videos can be found on YouTube. SRAM Corporation was founded in Chicago, IL (USA) in 1987 by six employees with one component, Gripshift Twist Shifters. Today, SRAM’s commitment and growth can be measured by its 1,500 employees, its 150+ cycling products, and it’s 12 facilities worldwide. SRAM has found tremendous growth through innovative products, unparallel customer service, strong sales, and complimentary acquisitions. SRAM acquisitions include Sachs Bicycle Components, purchased in 1997, a leading manufacturer of chains, cassettes and hubs. In 2002 SRAM purchased RockShox, the world’s mountain bike suspension specialist. 2004 brought the purchase of both Avid brakes and Truvativ cranks and components. The addition of these companies has allowed SRAM to grow into the world’s second largest component supplier to the cycling industry. SRAM's core philosophy is to make cycling better. Their commitment is expressed in their local, national and international team and event sponsorship.
