About the Schwalbe brand

For over 70 years Schwalbe have dominated the two wheeled tyre industry in Germany and Europe, being voted best MTB tyre brand in Germany for the past two years. From the very early beginnings where the company founder, Earnest-Wilhelm Bohle capitalised on the developing cycle industry, to the ultra modern distribution facility near Cologne, Schwalbe have continued to design and manufacture some of the finest bicycle tyres available. Schwalbe's success is due in part to the effort it makes in product development from lab tests at the manufacturing facility to the hardest proving grounds of all, professional cycle racing. 'Team Gerolsteiner' achieved a very creditable 7th place overall in the 2004 Tour de France and the unique performance of team captain Davide Rebellin winning three major classic races back to back using Schwalbe tyre. Other notable succeses include Normann Stadler winning the infamous Ironman triathlon in Hawaii, riding Schwalbe Stelvio tyres.

Rated 1 out of 5 by farmforfun from Less than 25miles! Just rebooted my daughters road bike. First ride ..rear puncture ! Ok, we live out in the countryside and sometimes roads can be a bit of an issue but was expecting a little more than this after reading reviews Just unlucky who knows? time will tell ! Anyway repairs carried out , will try it again tomorrow So it’s only a 1 star from me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AugieMarch from Easy fit Great tyres, easy to fit, they are replacing my conti Grand Prix 4000’s which had really seen the light of day after 2500 miles. Not ran with these before but been advised to give them a try. Short ride this morning after fitting and they seem to grip well and are a little quicker that the conti’s, cheaper too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Billkh from Good everyday tyre Ran these on my cross bike for commuting a mixed track of gravel paths, rough roads and lanes. Only suffered one puncture in over 2000miles. Still going and plenty of wear left. Only criticism I have is they don’t I still confidence in the wet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by StuLeVaud from Got it on all my road bikes Grippy comfortable and hard wearing I use these on my racing commute bike too, with the last 6 months of roadworks I was expecting a puncture from all the grit and stones. Even jumping on and off broken kerbs and even some off rad detours! Brilliant performance They also survive a long weekend on Italian roads with the panniers on! The larger section makes them more comfortable and more stable as you can run on a bit less pressure Now put them on my wifes and teens bikes

Are these tyres directional ( rolling according to tread pattern) ? no included instruction given or indication on tyre itself.

Asked by: broadgates
The tyres are directional. You'll see two lines in the tread pattern pointing inwards, almost forming a point or arrow. This would be the direction the tread is designed to roll.

V-Guard v Raceguard

Which offers more puncture protection between V-Guard and Raceguard? I am deciding between the Scwalbe One and the Durano Racegurad. Thanks Simon
Asked by: iosmn30
The raceguard offers a double layer and the V-guard offers a triple layer of protection.

Is the price for a pair?

Pardon my ignorance, I'm new to cycling and want to replace my tyres with some more suitable for winter riding, with greater puncture protection etc. Have never purchased any before, do you get a pair of tyres in a pack? Thanks
Asked by: AndyRSFO
These would be priced per individual tyre, if you add one to your basket and change the quantity to 2 on your basket page, we'll then be able to send a pair out to you.

Do the colour versions com in bigger sizes?

I see that the Buy options have multiple sizes for the plain black tyres, but only 23mm for the ones with colour-splashes. Do the fancy ones come in the bigger sizes at all?

Will 28c fit when running 25c with 5mm clearance?

I am currently using the 25c version and I have 5mm vertical clearance to the frame where the brake is mounted? Will the 28c fit? I understand that 28c tyres are wider but are they a lot taller? Regards, Konrad
Asked by: Kon36
I would suggest that a 28c tyre would fit, but the clearance would be minimal.
