This Comp model has also been enhanced with Ritchey’s VFA (Vector Force Analysis) technology to ensure grip is provided in the correct areas of this mountain bike tyre. This means you can thrash up and down the trails with more confidence.
VFA Design: When creating tread profiles for the first Ritchey tyres, Tom Ritchey looked at the way tyres wore down to identify where they need tread the most. The result of this observation is Vector Force Analysis, an approach that had been used in car tyre design but never before with bicycles. From VFA, Tom designed some of the more iconic Ritchey tyres, including the Olympic- and world championship-proven SpeedMax and Z-Max treads.
