The OneUp Components XTR/XT Expander Sprocket is specifically designed for use with a Shimano M8000/M9000 cassette and increases the range to help you conquer the climbs.
|Cassette Range:||11-28 Tooth|
One of the slight drawbacks to running a 1x11 drivetrain is that you lose some top speed. However, with this expander sprocket on board, you can run a 34T chainring up front for extra speed on the flat, without losing the low gear range for the climbs.
In addition to the larger and easier climbing gear, OneUp provide an 18T hardened steel sprocket, to help to smooth the progression between gears. This helps to ensure smaller jumps in resistance for efficient acceleration and smooth cadence when using the highest gears. Also, as the 40 or 42T sprocket is maintained, there’s a smooth transition to the expander and the cassette’s durability is maintained.
