About the Miche brand

Miche ... since 1919, a passion that grows. It's been "90 years" since Ferdinando Michelin, almost on a bet, began to produce bicycles and components with facilities including some with his concept design, proceeding with his son Italo - now president of the company - and arriving now-days in the directive hands of his nephew Luigi, with a wealth of knowledge and expertise that makes Miche, one of the leading global manufacturer companies of special components for Cycles (by road, by Track and Mountain Bike), designed and produced entirely in Italy.
100% Made in Italy, is for Miche, a choice motivated by a constant pursuit of absolute quality, from a story that has traveled all the roads of cycling, from the dusty ones, to those supertechnological and futuristic, constantly following a World in changing: the World of Cycling.
To build its products, Miche, employs the most innovative technologies, production processes and the finest materials: carbon, light alloys and composite materials.
The manufacturing of the entire range of Miche products, are performed within the factory of San Vendemmiano (Treviso - Italy) or directly controlled to have 'the hand' of what the brand MICHE will carry in the world and, while supported by robotic machines and numerical control the whole process has a decisive run by technicians who work with high professionalism, but above all with real passion for cycling, that passion that leads to refined insights concerning the evolution of each component.
To validate the "functionality" and the long lasting lifetime "endurance" of the constituents, constant testings are performed within the company (with repeated testing and laboratory analysis), and directly on the road by teams of professionals in national and international competitions, because any product with the Miche label, is a "90 years" absolute quality.

Miche Seat Post Clamp is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Cookiesabliere from NICE, BUT BE VERY CAREFUL Bought to clamp a carbon seat post into a titanium frame. It appears very well made and some consideration has been given to the material of your bike frame - one position for a metal frame, another for a carbon frame. All fits very nicely, and appeared to hold the seat post firmly in place. However, I went to carry out a minor adjustment on my saddle - not pointing exactly dead ahead (probably my original set up was a bit off rather than the saddle moving). The collar states to tighten the bolt to 10Nm, so the torque wrench was duly set to 10Nm, and the retaining bolt promptly sheared off. Unfortunately, because of the design of this clamp - ie it has a blind screw hole - there is no way to remove the threaded section remaining in the clamp. I will probably be replacing this with an identical item, as I like the look of it. HOWEVER, there is no way I'll be setting 10Nm torque with the wrench, I'll very gingerly try 5Nm or finger tight with an Allen key, and if it appears to hold, that will be good enough. Trouble is, I was always led to believe you should tighten to the manufacturer's specified setting.... ....maybe I should go and loosen the lug nuts on my car wheels??????

Rated 5 out of 5 by OGIL from Ideal replacement clamp Used as a replacement on a Cube Agree. Almost the same profile as the aero clamp the bike came with. If anything a better component than the original

Rated 4 out of 5 by BCSW from Straight forward Works just as expected. Hard to go wrong really with such a simple bit of kit, but I've had the same one on my seat post for over 3 years (and I expose my road bike to all sorts of horrible conditions) and there's been no problems of it giving way. Recently purchased a new one for my partners bike as I accidentally stripped the screw for the old one (a new clamp is cheaper than a new pack of screws - who knew?) and took five seconds to put on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AJB753 from Neat, light, adjustable clamp.. Nice, light, reasonably priced and if your struggling with clamps that “move” due to the fact your seat tube isn’t quite square, then the fact it has a separate inner collar, enables a small shim (a piece of electrical tape is enough) to be placed between the collar and clamp making it bombproof. Well pleased

Correct way to install the clamp

I am using a Syntace P6 AL seatpost with a titanium frame. So I'm guessing the sleeve should be pointing at Classic. Then am I supposed to align the clamp slot & the seat tube slot? Or align the sleeve slot with the seat tube slot? Thanks for the help.
Asked by: ckboon
For an aluminium post into a titanium frame you will indeed need to point the insert to the 'Classic' option. In this case, the clamp should be placed such that it points directly back from the frame with the insert rotated accordingly.

what size

Hello, I'm not quite good at mecanic haha I want to change my seat post clamp. On my old piece it's just written "35". I don't know if I must buy the 34,8mm or the 35,4mm. Thank you very much Céline
Asked by: celine102
I can confirm the 34,8mm size should fit, however we would advice care in installation and pre-fitting measurements would be advised to ensure no lasting damage may be caused by improper installation.

Properly torque

I bought carbon seatpost FSA SL-K and FSA recommended "DO NOT tighten seat clamp above 5NM". I don't have any instruction with this clamp, only inscription - 10Nm lock. In the previous question someone recommended me to make 6-8nm, but it's still scarry for me. Should i make <5Nm or 6-8Nm? Please tell me.
Asked by: Ginkgo
We would advise following the manufacturers recommended torque settings of 5nm for your seat post to avoid structural failure of the post.
