Rated 3 out of 5 by from Done the job There was little depth for teeth on one side of the bottom bracket so hard to keep purchase under pressure. In this case it is often suggested to use the crank bolt screwed through to hold in place but because the back of this tool is completely open there is nothing for the bolt to hold onto. I ended up bringing the bike into the garden and holding the tool in against a wooden post while i loosened the bottom bracket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the job I needed it for. I had to remove an old bottom bracket from my bike. It had been in place for a few too many years and was going to be a tough job. This tool did what it says on the tin. It was perfect for the job and removed the bottom bracket without any problems. A good buy.

Use of torque wrench with 3/8 head possible with X-Tools BB Octalink Tool?

Hello, Can anyone confirm whether I can tighten an Octalink bottom bracket with the X-Tools BB Octalink Tool and a torque wrench with 3/8" head? Or does some sort of adaptor have to go in the end opposite the splines, so that the 3/8" torque wrench can connect with the BB removal tool?Thanks, Adam

The above answer is incorrect, this tool is not compatible with a 3/8" square drive, it has a circular opening on the rear face. You would need a 32mm socket with 3/8" square drive adapter to use this tool
