You may ask yourself, “what is this 650b semi-plump tyre trend anyway?” perhaps you’re gravel-curious, but not quite sure of how often you’ll really want to push your limits off the paved road. That is what the Rove AL 650 is here for. It’s the road biker’s gravel/touring/do-it-all steed. It welcomes bigger tyre clearance and more comfortable geometry. It provides everything you need for a fast, comfortable ride and nothing you don’t. It’s the perfect bike for commuting, partaking in weekend warrior adventures, or diving deeper into longer tours.
The Rove AL 650 is the 650b-wheeled companion to the Rove AL 700. For those riders looking for a 650b wheeled machine with all the features of its bigger sibling, look no further. This off-road gravel warrior is armed with a Shimano 2x8-Speed drivetrain, reliable and powerful Hayes mechanical disc brakes, and 47c WTB Venture Comp tyres, giving the Rove AL 650 the performance, agility and control for all-terrain riding.
Kona 7005 and 6061 Aluminium alloys are used extensively throughout their range of mountain and asphalt bicycles. A tough, durable, light alloy, both Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts for thousands of rides. Much of our 7005/6061 tubing is butted and/or formed, meaning the tubing’s wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as shaped, so they can fine-tune a particular frame’s strength and ride characteristics depending on its intended application.
650b wheels and tyres have a similar overall diameter to a traditional 700c gravel or commuting tyre, but with a smaller diameter rim and a wider, taller tyre. The extra air volume in this new generation of urban and mixed-surface tyres means they can be run comfortably at lower pressures while still rolling quickly on a variety of surfaces. It’s the best of both worlds.
Rest assured that each bike is fully built, tested and tuned by Wiggle's team of qualified bike mechanics to ensure your bike arrives in perfect condition. We supply all bikes with a set of plastic pedals, a pedal wrench and a multi-tool kit. Find out which size fits you by clicking the size chart tab.
Born in the deep forests of Vancouver, British Columbia in 1988, Kona has since gone on to become one of the most influential bicycle manufacturers in the world, known for it’s innovations in mountain bike design, creative marketing and now, road and commuter offerings.

Named for the breezy trade winds that keep the Hawaiian Islands lush and tropical, throughout the company’s 28-year history, their designers have always believed that technology isn’t about creating new confusing acronyms and high-tech principles that may or may not help a bike to ride better. Quite often it’s the simplest innovations that enable the greatest improvements.

With offices in Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, Washington, and Geneva, Switzerland, and a staff that lives and breathes riding bikes, today Kona is perhaps best known for its blend of modern technology and creative thought. One of the most notable innovations of 2014, one that garnered them an incredible amount of attention, was the simple idea of rider fit, best viewed in the geometry and design of their incredibly successful line of Process enduro bikes.

A lot of the company’s most noteworthy technology comes in the form of its undying attention to detail. From steel to carbon fiber to titanium, refined aluminum alloys through to Scandium 69, Kona features perfected bicycle models ranging from Kids’ cyclocross bikes to World Cup downhill race machines, stylish inner city commuters to flat-out, perfectly priced road bikes. Still owned by its original founders, Kona is one of cycling’s great success stories.
