Fuji Jari 1.5 Adventure Road Bike (2020) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by chilledvondub from A great bike spoilt with bad components So overall this is a cool looking bike, it's fairly light and has plenty of space for accessories if you intend to do a bit of bike-packing. The Shimano Tiagra Groupset is a fantastic inclusion to the set up, decent gearing range for general purposes and the combination of the 46T big ring and 11T little ring allows you to pick up some almost road bike worthy speed. My particular build needed indexing and various adjustments out of the box so not an immediate off the mark purchase but once amended the bike felt stable and compliant. Now for the negative bits; Like most reviews you'll find on this bike are the concerns around the quality of certain components in particular the spokes, having owned the bike for 2 months and exclusively riding on the road having replaced 7 spokes in that time has become a costly and unsettling exercise, knowing each time you go out on the bike there's a significant risk of a spoke snapping and the wheel becoming un-true is a huge flaw. I have personally raised this with Wiggle and hope they recognise it's a within the Trades Description Act that a product advertised "Adventure", "Cyclocross" or "Gravel" for it's intended purpose should be robust and resilient enough to endure intense riding let alone road commutes. My other bug bear as mentioned before was the condition of the build upon receipt, whilst it was put together sufficiently lubricated, greased and bolts to the right torque the indexing was way off and almost impossible to ride and shift effectively. So another trip to a bike shop or trained mechanic to get it working properly was a bit of a sting after shelling out. Lastly for the original RRP it's a shame hydraulic breaks weren't included and the bottom bracket doesn't have more of a sealed unit. Whilst the Tektro Lyra callipers do work they're not all too responsive and for the money you'd expect something with a bit more gut.... not to mention this bike is designed and it's intended purposes to be an off road bike, you need that stopping power. So to summarise its a great bike plagued with inadequate components so could only score it mid road, subsequently I can't recommend the bike as a build be the frame, Gravel King SK's, bars saddle, groupset drive train etc are decent!

Rated 3 out of 5 by stephen83 from Stephen83 Agree with all of ChrisJ2 comments. I’ve been using the bike quite a lot during lockdown and five rear wheel spokes have broken, the rear wheel bearings have had to be adjusted three times and I don’t expect either of these problems to have been fully resolved. My local bike shop will confirm this. The gears also jump more than I would expect and this maybe because of lack of rigidity in the frame. Totally I’ve cycled about 3000km on this bike since new in July ‘19 and was planning to use it for a Lands End - John O’Groats ride starting tomorrow May 18. Thank heavens I had to cancel - I need a different bike for that ride.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ChrisJ2 from Rides nicely, but unreliable &not good for touring I bought one of these in August 2019 and have ridden it about 2000km now (Jan 2020). The bike itself rides very nicely, I love the shape of the drop bars, and the Tiagra shifters are great. However, it’s proved to be constantly unreliable and is just made of cheap stuff. I’ve used it for riding to work, a small amount of touring and some bikepacking. When riding to work with a rucksack, the bike was great and it can take some good sized mudguards which is great. It’s impressed me on gravel, too - it absorbs and smooth out bumps quite nicely. For touring (light touring) the bike is pretty useless - the frame is flexible and the whole bike starts wobbling/oscillating above about 25kph, regardless of how I pack/distribute weight, and it’s pretty hard to control. I’ve done a lot of touring in this past and have concluded this is not a good bike for it In six months the bike has already had a new bottom bracket, new front chainrings, new crank arms, and a fully rebuilt rear wheel. Wiggle sorted and covered the cost of the initial issues with the bike, but it takes several days to get an email response from them, then they sent me the wrong parts, and it was over a month before I could actually ride the bike. The rear wheel is appalling - 9 spokes snapped and were replaced within the first 1500km (the first three snapped at the same time when going uphill). Eventually I had to pay somebody to fully rebuild the wheel using proper spokes, and he showed me how thin and flimsy my spokes were compared to the new ones. Wiggle claimed that spokes are ‘wear and tear’ and wouldn’t cover the cost of the rebuilt wheel. A quick google shows that I’m not the first person to have problems with the wheels on this bike. Also just a few other things are a bit naff - the bolts they’ve used for thinks like bottle cages are weak and if you want them tight you will round off the heads. Also I wasn’t overly impressed with how the bike was set up when it arrived - I had to realign the brakes and tweak a few other things. I’ll summarise by saying: If this bike was stolen, I would not buy another one.

What type of..

Which bottom bracket does it use? Bsa30? Do the disks work as preferred stoppers or rubbish slowers? How heavy are the wheels? I presume that my @619g FSA 30 double cranks will fit?
Asked by: SatoF12002
The approx weight of these wheels are as follows; 900grams (rear wheel) 800 grams (Front wheel), The BB uses a BSA sealed unit. For compatibly of your cranks we will require more information and feel that our live chat service would be better suited for this. Hope this helps!

Is this bike compatible with 650b wheels?

Asked by: Nickername
The bike would look silly with 650b wheels on it, that said as out the box it runs disc brakes I'm sure it would work, you're also able to run much wider tyres as there's plenty of clearance front and rear

I'm @5'7 with 30 " inside leg..

52cm the correct size for me? I've got a 30 " inside leg and I'm @5'7 and weight @90kg!
Asked by: SatoF12002
Please see the attached size chart for this bike. It is included in the link here: https://www.fujibikes.com/usa/bikes/road/adventure-and-touring/jari/jari-1-5 Small (52cm) would be our suggestion if you have a 30" inside leg.

Is this bike delivered fully built?

Asked by: Snudge
You simply need to install the handlebars and pedals (Wiggle provide basic flat pedals and tools including multi-tool and crank wrench - I'd advise however buying better pedals with hex (allen) key threads on them as it's all to easy to over tighten and round off pedal bolts using a wrench)
