Ergon grips:
Innovative solutions for traditional problems of numb fingers, aching hands and forearms - problems all too familiar to bikers. Caused by too much pressure on the highly sensitive areas of the inner palm and potential malpositioning of the hand. Ergon grips provide 100% contact of hand and grip by an anatomically optimised grip-shape. Thus the pressure is relieved, especially near the nervus ulnaris, preventing the hand from getting numb. Additionally overstraining of the median nerve (often resulting in carpal tunnel syndrome) as well as aching wrists are prevented.

About the Ergon brand

Ergon produce bicycle grips, backpacks, gloves and tools. Ergon's aim is to develop products that offer the best ergonomics for cyclists, combining the best scientific principles with practicality.

Ergon GP2 Handlebar Grips is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 60.
Rated 5 out of 5 by NotNick46 from Ergon, no complaints here ... My four bikes in regular use all have Ergon Grips, as every bike has had since I discovered them. I also have Ergon Pedals and Saddle ... that says it all!

Rated 4 out of 5 by slowjo61 from Good design and pretty comfortable A flattened grip with dinky bar ends. These are great for extended rides. Three or four hours in and the contoured surface helps delay any discomfort. The micro bars ends are really on thumbies but give you extra purchase when climbing. As with all bar ends, they don't look particularly cool and they can catch on vegetation but I can live with that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 5ocrates from Substance over style! Bought for my Brompton. Maybe not the best looking grips in my opinion, but they work really well.

Will these be ok for a Brompton S type (flat handlebar)?

Is the diameter ok, and - if so - what about the length? Do they need to be cut-down to fit?
Asked by: Banburybrompy
The diameter is standard for all sizes. Here is a guide below in regards to the length you will need. http://www.ergon-bike.com/us/en/service/faq/usage/small-or-large--which-grip-size-do-i-need

Which grip to buy?

I know you have answered this question previously, but the link is broken and I'm not sure whether to get small or large, and whether to get gripshift. I have a Trek T10 with twist gears on the inside of the handlebar.
Asked by: Emma145
The Small or Large sizing only refers to the surface area size of the grips rather than the diameter. You would need the Gripshift option which is suitable for a 92 mm Hand circumference. Can I use a handlebar end mirror with these grips?

I have a mirror which fits inside the handlebar and then the "plug" expands to secure. You have to be able to remove the handlebar/grip end plug to fit this type of mirror. Will it work?
Asked by: ashleyTW
Yes it would be possible to install the a mirror with these grips.

What is a gripshift?

Asked by: RoseRider
A gripshift is a bar mounted twisting gear shifter, meaning that the grips required would be around half the size to accommodate this.

i have a giant talon mountian bike. do i need gripshifts or standard? what is the difference?

Asked by: parmooskie
Standard and Gripshift - the Gripshift versions are shorter to accomodate the shifters, Standard are a normal length for trigger shifters. Here is a guide below. http://www.ergon-bike.com/us/en/service/faq/usage/small-or-large--which-grip-size-do-i-need
