Rated 4 out of 5 by from You Still Have to do Some Scrubbing! As a heretic who uses tub tape;). I bought the mastic remover to clean old glue from a second hand disc wheel. The short review is- it works! The slightly longer review says that it’s not quite as easy as the product video which shows a simple paint on wipe off approach. Two applications and use of a toothbrush to agitate the gel on the second try produced excellent results and a nice clean rim. Ready for taping ahem .....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm! I bought this to get some aged Mastik off my wheels and it worked perfectly! I used an acid brush to paint it on (being pink you can see where you’ve put it), let it sit for a few hours, then got a rag with some lighter fluid and the glue cane off really easily! For one wheel I left it on overnight, but for the other I left it for about four hours. Whilst some will say that the labour or removing glue is part of the ‘romance’ and process of using tubs I’m firmly of the belief of making life easy if possible. With the Mariposa tape used as well I was able to clean and fix the tubs on in 24 hours, something only dreamt of with glue! I used about a third of the tube for two rims with fairly liberal coats, but I guess it’s always better to have more than you need right?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from With patience, this is a great product. I chose to try this product to strip several layers of Continental tub cement off some alloy Mavic tub rims. First application was applied in a cold garage and not left on long enough. Next time I applied the remover in a warmer environment, left it on for 24hrs...and hey presto! In total I applied it three times to each rim and required one and a half tubes of remover. I wanted 100% clean rims before mounting my tubs with the Effetto Mariposa tub tape...hence why I required that third application as I wanted squeaky clean rims. If you do it properly (time and warmth are key) then two applications will work a treat. A great “evil solvent-free” option for cleaning up tub rims.

Will this work on removing tubeless Caffe Latex?

I want something to help remove the Latex residue on Tyres and Rims. Will it work safely on ENVE carbon rims and Tubeless tyres?

We would not recommend this product for carbon wheels.
