The Crud Roadracer Mk3 mudguard incorporates a unique, super fast fixing system and has been widened to accommodate tyres up to 38c. Weighing in at only 260 grams the pair, they fit to all 700c bikes including both disc and caliper brakes.

About the Crud brand

1991:THE CRUD CATCHER
Pre-CRUD riders were in the habit of cutting up plastic bottles and zip-tying them to the downtube.
I wanted something that looked a little more stylish on my brand new Diamondback. So I looked in the yellow pages and found a “tool designer”.
I didn't know what it meant, or what he did, but I went along to see him anyway, and he hooked me up and designed the tool for the first crud catcher. I don't remember his name, but I’d like to meet him again and thank him for setting me on the path.

Not only is it advertised as fitting without the need for tools; I’ve drilled two holes and the instructions advised me to use a hacksaw, but they are poorly made and the fitting stickers don’t work. I’ve had to use tape. Clearance is also an issue, I note that this could be the make of my bike but they are not universal guards. I suggest you look elsewhere.

The description says it will fit up to 28c Tyres. I have 25c tyres on my Cannondale and there is not enough clearance between the tyre and the mudguard so the wheel cannot turn.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Clever design - but not a universal fit Well made, well designed & easy to take on and off. However, as others have noted, they are larger / more rugged than the old version and the trade off is that they are less suited to a road bike! With winter tyres fitted (continental 4 season, 28c) i had to cannibalise the mudguards....which is an expensive things to have to do! They fitted fine with Gatorskin 23c. My impression is that Crud have forgotten what the market is for these mudguards. It also annoys me that you get ONE ziplock and no spare thumb-screws.....such penny-pinching puts me off paying the premium price tag again.

Will these fit my Cube Attain SL disc?

Cube have withdrawn their Attain-specific mudguards. Will these Mk 3 's fit my new bike without bodging ? Thx

It did not fit my commuter bike, however, that bike is about 25 years old. But whit new(er) bikes, I don't think you'll have any problems. But anyhow... wiggle has an excellent return policy so there's really no risk...
