Super lightweight butyl tube, even lighter than latex but not porous, so no need to reinflate every day. Can also be fixed with a normal puncture kit. The shorter valves on these inner tubes are ideal for wheels with rim depths of 24mm or 30mm but are not ideal for wheels with rim depths of 35mm or above (as the shorter valve would not extend out of the rim valve hole).

Presta valve tubes are most commonly used for road wheels (700c) and on a few MTB wheels as the valves are thin, whereas Schrader valves are more commonly found on MTB wheels as valve is larger and won't fit through 700c rim valve holes.

Please be aware the length of valve may vary (36 or 42)

About the Continental brand

More than 100 years experience in the development and production of bicycle tyres has made Continental a unique company within the industry. Continental is the only German bicycle tyre manufacturer to produce its tyres in Germany. Knowing this serves as a mighty incentive to our engineers and everyone else involved in the manufacturing process to constantly strive for further innovations. In our technology and development center in Korbach, we are constantly developing new revolutionary technologies such as the unbeatable Black Chili Compound and the ultimate Vectran™ Breaker anti-puncture technology, both used at the top end of race sport. These technologies demand sophisticated processes to ensure our legendary end-product quality, and these innovations as well as the new “ProTection” and ”RaceSport” technology for MTB tyres, can only be manufactured in our factory in Germany – “Handmade in Germany”. In order to offer the best tyre for any application, we rely equally on dialogue with our professional racers, hobby cyclists and everyday bike riders. This results not only in high-end products for top sports applications such as the new Podium TT or the revolutionary downhill tyre “Der Kaiser”, but also tyres for everyday use like the new innovative combination EcoContact/EcoContact Plus as a companion to the latest e-bike trend. As a global player, Continental also maintains high-tech production facilities outside of Germany, where Continental tyres are produced for you with an equal degree of care and dedication. One thing all Continental bicycle tyres have in common is that they are developed in the technology center in Korbach, Germany, where they also undergo strict inspection. Our heart and soul is behind the phrase “Handmade in Germany”, with all of its products and technologies.

Continental Supersonic Road Inner Tube is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 147.
Rated 5 out of 5 by BobbyF from Great Inner Tube I’ve used various inner tubes looking for value for money buys but these have been the best I’ve used so far

Rated 1 out of 5 by philms from First one leaked, second one blew up! Bought these as they were the only ones available on the website. Used the first one and found that it was a slow puncture. Went out for a ride and after 15km with three stops to pump it up decided to switch it for the second one. Tried to find the leak in the first one with no obvious puncture. Used a CO2 canister to inflate the second one and it blew up!! Replaced it with the first one and cycled home with three stops to pump it up. Went via a local cycle shop and bought four Specialized inner tubes. To deal with the extra weight I reckon I’ll just go to the toilet before riding!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by badspyro from Feels nice, but leaks fast Latex tubes need pumping daily, butyl tubes monthly. These fit somewhere in the weekly category. Honestly, I didn't see much of a difference compared to the standard Conti tubes on my commute, the speed was similar as was the road feel. After a few months of riding on them with GP5000s in 28c, I honestly can't say I'll keep using them on a regular basis. Fun to try, have a very different feel in the hand, but they're going into the parts box for the foreseeable future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Light, comfortable and repairable. Been using the Supersonics for years. Very light and the ride quality is just right matched with Veloflex Corsas. Unlike latex tubes, these tubes can be easily patched.

I am quite sure that the 100gram weight quoted in the description is not the correct weight for this lightwieght tube. Can you quote the correct weight for the 700x20 tube
Asked by: marcusb
I can confirm that the weight for this tube alone is 52g.
