The long valve inner tubes enable you to use deep section rims (40mm, 50mm and above) as the shorter valve would not extend out of the rim valve hole. Shorter valve inner tubes are ideal for wheels with rim depths of 24mm or 30mm.

Presta valve tubes are most commonly used for road wheels (700c) and on a few MTB wheels as the valves are thin, whereas Schrader valves are more commonly found on MTB wheels as the valve is larger and won't fit through 700c rim valve holes.

About the Continental brand

More than 100 years experience in the development and production of bicycle tyres has made Continental a unique company within the industry. Continental is the only German bicycle tyre manufacturer to produce its tyres in Germany. Knowing this serves as a mighty incentive to our engineers and everyone else involved in the manufacturing process to constantly strive for further innovations. In our technology and development center in Korbach, we are constantly developing new revolutionary technologies such as the unbeatable Black Chili Compound and the ultimate Vectran™ Breaker anti-puncture technology, both used at the top end of race sport. These technologies demand sophisticated processes to ensure our legendary end-product quality, and these innovations as well as the new “ProTection” and ”RaceSport” technology for MTB tyres, can only be manufactured in our factory in Germany – “Handmade in Germany”. In order to offer the best tyre for any application, we rely equally on dialogue with our professional racers, hobby cyclists and everyday bike riders. This results not only in high-end products for top sports applications such as the new Podium TT or the revolutionary downhill tyre “Der Kaiser”, but also tyres for everyday use like the new innovative combination EcoContact/EcoContact Plus as a companion to the latest e-bike trend. As a global player, Continental also maintains high-tech production facilities outside of Germany, where Continental tyres are produced for you with an equal degree of care and dedication. One thing all Continental bicycle tyres have in common is that they are developed in the technology center in Korbach, Germany, where they also undergo strict inspection. Our heart and soul is behind the phrase “Handmade in Germany”, with all of its products and technologies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by J88SAX from Perfect mix of cost & weight Can’t fault these tubes at all, they’re much smaller than a regular tube but nice and durable, and not susceptible to heat like latex tubes. Can’t fault them at all.

60mm valve practical for a 46mm rim?

Similar to the last poster regarding his 50mm rims, I'm waiting on delivery of a set of Reynolds 46mm clinchers and wonder if the 14mm of clearance will be sufficient to allow a pump to hold the valve?
Asked by: Crashcourse
14mm still isn't really enough for a pump to produce a good seal on the valve. I would recommend a longer valve or valve extenders to guarantee a good fit.

Does continental light Long valve tube, 80mm , have removeable valve cores? If so would this be good for injecting puncture proofing product? Thanks.

Asked by: PAK3
Yes these tubes do have removable valve cores and would be fine with puncture proofing slimes.

I have a 50mm carbon rim, i am wondering if the 60mm tube will be able to fit?

Asked by: yongkun
Obviously it will pass through the rim, but with only 10mm in fresh air you will probably have difficulties connecting a pump to it - especially out on the road. Easy answer is to use an 80mm valve, alternatively fit valve extenders (fixed or removeable)

80mm Valve Length

Continental Supersonics have never been available with an 80mm valve and now I see Wiggle doesn't have any 80mm Race Light tubes with an 80mm valve. Is this just an out-of-stock issue or are they no longer being manufactured or stocked? These Road Light tubes are an excellent value for money tube for race wheels and hope they will continue to be available in both 60mm and 80mm valve options.

Are the 80 mm valves long enough for Reynolds Strikes? They are a 66mm depth rim. Will there be enough valve left to attach a pump or co2 inflator ?

Where are these tubes made?

I am having a hard time getting Origin: Imported (Germany) tubes, and the ones Origin: Imported (China) are garbage in comparison. I have been patching my old Germany made Continental tubes as quality of the Origin: Imported (China) are really bad. it's getting to the point where I have more patches than tube.

Track pump not connecting to valve

My lifeline track pump won't connect to the 80mm valves. Is it because the valve doesn't have a thread on the valve body/stem or am I doing something wrong or is my pump head not compatible?

Are the continental 60mm valves OK for SRAM S60s

The reviews of the Continental 60mm tubes seem to be reviewing the 80mm as well and I am not sure if the 60mm is OK for my wheels.
Asked by: Deany1
No. I use 60mm Continentals on my Cosmic Carbones which are 52 mm high and this is absolute maximum for 60mm Continental valves. S60 wheels are 60mm high so Continental's 60mm valves are too short. Note also that many of "60mm-valves" of other manufacturers are even shorter than Continental's 60mm valves.
