How to choose your Clug?

Clug is designed to be a great fit with just about every bike tire out there. There are three versions of the Clug - one to fit standard road bike tires between 23 and 28mm, one to fit hybrid tires between 33 and 42mm and one to fit big fat mountain bike tires 1.75 - 2.5".

How to install?

It couldn't be easier! Just follow the steps included in your package with your Clug and you'll be done and Clugging in no time flat.

Size guide:

Roadie: This size is designed to fit Road Bike Tires - small and lean. If your tire is between 23 and 32mm (Just over 7/8" to 1.25") then this is the size for you!

Hybrid: This size is designed to fit Hybrid Tires - comfortable and wide but not too knobby. If your tire is between 33 and 42mm (1.25" to 1.75") then this is the size for you.

MTB: This size is designed to fit Mountain Bike Tires - knobby and ready to shred trails. If your tire is between 1.75" and 2.5" (44mm to 63mm) then this is the size for you.

MTB Plus: This size is designed to fit plus-sized Mountain Bike Tires - grippy and ready to tame harsh terrain. If your tire is between 2.75" and 3.2" (70mm to 81mm) then this is the size for you.

MTB XL: This size is designed to fit extra-large Mountain Bike Tires -  bold knobs and trail-ready. If your tire is between 2.3" and 2.7" (58mm to 69mm) then this is the size for you.

Really easy to install (do follow the instructions!) and template provided. It is really discreet when the bike is not on the wall. The bike is really easy to fit and it's snug enough to ensure that the bike does not fall off. I love the product

Would this hold a bike stood vertically against the wall?

This looks great but if I stood my bike on the rear wheel with the front wheel clipped into the holder does it have enough grip to keep it in that position - or is it just intended to be used as in the photo?

If hooking the front wheel, does the back wheel have to rest on the floor or does it lift the bike off the floor completely?

The rear wheel would be resting on the floor in this case, these will not hold the entire weight of your bike safely.

Rear wheel dirt on wall?

May be a silly question but what have people done if the bike is stored vertically to stop dirt from the rear wheel getting on the wall? Use another one for the back wheel too (obviously the wheel is on the ground but it still touches the wall). So 2 per bike?

A second mount is an option but the most common solution I have found seems to be a small rectangle of grip tape on the wall to protect it or I (personally) have a cutting of pipe insulation that I pop on the wheel to contain the muck and not effect the bike or wall. I hope this helps.

What happens if you have a slow puncture and your tyre goes down will bike fall over ?

Yes. If you have a slow puncture - and the tyre deflates - the bike WILL fall over (seen in youtube reviews).

Does this work if you have fitted mud guards?

My road bike has full size mudguards on the back and front wheels. Would the Clug still allow me to mount the bike vertically, or would it end up resting on the rear guard?

Can I hang the bike vertically by the rear wheel?

I have mudguards on my winter bike so if I hang the bike vertically with the front wheel in the clug then the mudguard on the rear wheel will bend. I am therefore wondering if it would be possible to store the bike the other way with the rear wheel clipped into the clug? (Obviously I may need to strap the front wheel to the frame to prevent the wheel and handlebars twisting)
