This Castelli Mortirolo 4 Jacket is no longer available although you may find similar or newer versions below:
Whether it's fast high intensity rides or slow base miles, the Mortirolo 4 Jacket covers all your winter riding needs when it's cold and dry. Clever positioning of fabrics and venting means you'll never be too hot or too cold.
The Mortirolo is a perennial favourite among cyclists because it’s exceptionally good in a wide variety of conditions. High intensity rides in cold weather? Yep, this jacket keeps you warm but also vents a lot of moisture out the back thanks to Castelli's thermal Warmer fabric. Lower intensity mileage in mild conditions? Yep, just open up the zippered front vents and use a lighter base layer. The only real trade-off here is that Castelli didn’t build in real water repellences other than the Gore Windstopper® on the front, but this is a great piece for those dry autumn and winter days.
At Castelli's Italian headquarters they are lucky to have some of the best cycling playgrounds in the world. Winters can be really cold with plenty of snow, but as long as riding is still safe, being outside is much more fun than suffering on the rollers. A typical cyclist would probably ride at moderate speed to prepare for next season’s objectives. For some of us, winter riding also includes speed work or even intervals when preparing for a cyclocross race or an early season race next spring. The Mortirolo is the perfect jacket for those dry wintery rides. No danger of overheating due to the cleverly placed fabrics, protective Windstopper® and breathable panels. As spring gets closer you’ll appreciate the zippered chest vents—especially when overambitious riding pals are sprinting for town signs or fighting for KOM glory. Of course the Mortirolo is also a great jacket if you're just cruising around in endurance, mile-eating mode by yourself.
Total wind protection and great breathability, this fabric uses an internal brushed fleece for excellent insulation and to reduce moisture build up. It is treated with a DWR water-repellent finish to shed rain.
Castelli proudly produce high performance cycling apparel. Since 1876, they've been the tailor for the champions. It was their innovative mindset which brought the earliest heroes & legends like Binda, Coppi and Bartali. Castelli cycle clothing became legendary too inventing the skinsuit, the silk jersey, pockets on jerseys, and the first LYCRA® short used in professional racing.
