The Campagnolo Bora One 35 Tubular Wheelset has taken on a wider rim profile, moving from 20.5 to 24.2 mm, allowing the Campagnolo engineers to improve the aerodynamics and house wider tyres. The wider structure also represents an increase in structural strength and allows the engineers to remove the extra material used for structural integrity making the Bora family the lightest it's ever been. Featuring the 3Diamant braking surface, & G3 spoke technology, this wheel provides more responsive braking performance and better power transfer.

3Diamant Technology

Campagnolo® has further improved the already impressive braking performance of its full carbon wheel systems. This unique brake track eliminates the "breaking-in" period, improves braking performance under both wet and dry conditions and creates a more linear and smooth overall braking performance.

G3 Geometry

The right-hand side (drive side) of the rear wheel is fitted with twice as many spokes as the left. The results of the G3 system provide better transfer of pedalling torque, better lateral rigidity, reduction of the stress in the rear wheel spokes and no more wheel vibration.

About the Campagnolo brand

Besides distinguishing themselves for their unparalleled quality and performance, Campagnolo products have also become the benchmark of design. This is testified by the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award granted by the Associazione Design Italiano in recognition of the Veloce groupset, Ergopower integrated controls and Shamal high-profile wheels. Campagnolo is not only involved in the cycling world, but dedicates itself to all sports in general. In fact, it was named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the most prominent sports brands in the world. A reputation earned not only as a result of the countless successes achieved in racing competitions, but also by virtue of the attention given to quality and to service that sets this company apart from all others.

Campagnolo Bora One 35 Tubular Road Disc Wheelset is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by laager from Lovely wheelset. Really quite astounding. OK. The facts. Weights: Front: 597.6g Rear: 677.5g - Campagnolo freehub. Total: 1275.10g. A whole 0.9g under Campagnolo's claimed weight and that is absolutely normal as these days Campagnolo's claimed wheel weights are dead accurate. That's bare. No lockring, lockring washer or rotor. You could add 50 or sog for a steel Shimano freehub or 10-15g for the white alloy Shimano freehub Campagnolo is now flogging to the masses. (If you run Shimano or SRAM, go for the steel freehub and swallow the few extra grams. The steel freehub is far, far better than the white alloy one.) A Campagnolo 160mm rotor is 119-120g. Two of them verified on my scales. Slight variation between the two - manufacturing tolerance, I suspect. The lockring and washer are 12.3 grams, per wheel. Total wheelset weight, including Campagnolo 160mm rotors front and rear and Campagnolo lockrings and washers, Campagnolo freehub: 1539.2g ready for cassette, glue and tyres. So, on to ride quality. It is difficult to say how stiff they are as I am running 30mm Challenge Strada Bianca at rather low pressure - 42psi. So, the ride is a bit 'spongy' on the bitumen and perfect on the dirt/gravel. I have not tried the usual road tyres like 23, 25 or 27mm. As far as build quality is concerned, it's the standard Campagnolo fare. Laser straight and perfect. Even after a lot of distance at high speed on some really rough gravel trails and near mountain bike only tracks, they remain straight. They really are very strong wheels. However, their performance in the wind is something I can honestly comment on, having used garden variety Chinese 50mm carbon 'pseudo aero' rims, Bora 50mm, Madfiber, Lightweight Gen III, Zipp 303 and Zipp 404. They are better than all of those, without question. These feel a little like, but definitely better than, ultra low profile Mavic Reflex box section rims in the wind. i.e, they seem oblivious to crosswinds and blustery conditions, even at higher road speeds (40+ km/h). They really are a revelation in that regard. The usual buffeting by close passing cars has no effect. Changing winds on steep descents has no effect. Quite sensational in this regard. The hub internals are familiar to anyone used to oversize axle Campagnolo hubs since 2007. Extremely simple, cup and cone and a perfect bearing adjustment system. If you are keen, a CULT bearing kit can be installed easily. That might be a value proposition if salty winter roads are in the wheelset's future. Plus, all the current Campagnolo and Shimano spline freehubs drop onto it. No special new freehubs required. You will need a very good quality 18mm cone spanner to undo the NDS axle locknuts and the DS rear freehub locknut needs a pretty narrow 18mm wrench (I know Stahlwille fits). So, appropriate tools to suit torque wrenches is going to be challenging. In all, a very impressive wheelset. Just be aware of the large gluing area on the rim (24mm). This does complicate getting tyres on straight before glue sets, but it can be done.
