The updated Bont Riot Road+ Cycling Shoes feature a Boa dial for easy adjustment and, as you expect from Bont, are heat moldable for a custom fit. Available in a range of outstanding colours, they strike the ideal balance of style and performance.
|Cycle Shoe Type:||Three Bolt|
|Cycle Shoe Closing:||Dial|
The latest version of the popular Bont Riot Road + features a Boa closure as well as a hook-and-loop strap on the forefoot so that you can ensure a comfortable fit and make minor adjustments on the go. The closures have been configured to distribute pressure evenly across the foot, minimising 'hot spots.' Instead of the traditional nylon composite, Bont Riots feature carbon fibreglass composite sole which offers more stiffness so you can be confident that you won't be wasting power.
If you are a road cyclist looking to upgrade to a high-performance road shoe, the Bont Riot is a great choice. Like all Bont shoes, it's heat-mouldable for a fit that's individual to you and has been designed for that perfect balance of comfort and performance.
This cycling shoe is the most heat moldable shoe on the market today thanks to Bont's resin which has taken 36 years to perfect so it is extremely stiff but pliable at relatively low temperatures. To mould your shoes, remove any cleats, laces or cleat mounting screws and innersole before moulding. Pre-heat the oven to 70C/160F. Place the shoe in the oven for 20 minutes. Higher temperatures will void your warranty and may damage your boot. Let them cool a little and test the shoe temperature with your hand before placing your feet in the shoes. Tighten the straps and allow to cool. If you have any lumps or bunions on your feet or if there are any areas causing discomfort, while the shoe is hot you can use the round end of a screwdriver to press out any part of the boot. You can heat mould the shoes as many times as you like.
The carbon composite construction of the Riot+ has been specifically designed to ensure maximum performance at low weight. The composite tub style construction of the chassis has been strengthened with the inclusion of carbon across high-stress areas. The carbon has been sandwiched between layers of fibreglass to maximise strength.
A last is a replica of a foot that the cycling shoe is built around. Last makers do not make cycling shoe lasts, they only make shoe lasts so perfecting a cycling shoe last requires a great deal of expertise in functional biomechanics and ongoing research. Bont have been perfecting their performance footwear lasts since 1975 and the process is ongoing which is why they believe that Bont cycling shoes continue to be a leader in providing the most functional and correct anatomical support to cyclists than any other brand on the market. Their motto in terms of cycling shoe fit is simple, "We make shoes for cycling, not walking."
Over pronation is one of the main contributors to incorrect tracking of knees during a cyclists pedalling phase due to internal rotation of tibia and femur. This can result in knee injuries. In addition, the rotation of tibia/femur can cause the pelvis to tilt resulting in lower back strain. Structural medial longitudinal arch support is provided to stop over pronation of feet. This is also supported by Bont's Lateral Forefoot Support.
Founded in 1975, Bont began when Inze Bont, a recreational skater decided to fiberglass the back of his leather skates to gain extra support. A simple, yet innovative approach which started a company now in its 35th year, with product ranges across two highly competitive sports and sales across 56 countries.
Inze's innovation saw Bont as the first footwear manufacturer to commercially use materials such as fiberglass in 1975, Kevlar in 1986 and Carbon in 1989. The companies philosophy in continually driving development, along with its reputation for producing the highest quality products rapidly made it the largest producer of hand made speed skates in the world, a position it has continually held and one that is backed up by not only our volume of products sold, but by countless world championship medals.
In 2007, after continual requests the decision was made to expand the companies product line into the cycling market. Working together with world class athletes, Bont launched its initial offering of cycling shoes and in its inaugural year at the 2008 Beijing Olympics finished with 8 Gold medals.
Since 2008, Bont Cycling has rapidly grown it's product line to over 12 models in stock sizing and now caters extensively to all disciplines of cycling. Our range of cycling shoes cater not only to high performance athletes, but also to enthusiasts and beginners alike.
Bont as a company continues to grow with the help of a dedicated team of individuals. Our team, including our factory which is dedicated to Bont products only, strives to continually improve our products in all aspects. We work with total respect for all within the Bont family and value all input from within our team and from the countless individuals who use our products.
Bont will continue to grow through maintaining our constant drive in product innovation, continually improving on product quality and through providing exceptional support and service.

Bont Size Chart To find your size, place a tape measure on a flat surface up against a wall. Stand on the tape measure with your heel against the wall. Look down and take the measurement from your longest toe. Then use the MM scale on the size chart to find your size. The 'Standard Fit' column gives an idea of the width of the shoe (at the widest part of your foot).
The mm sizes on the size chart are the exact length of the last that we use to build the shoes. If you find that your mm size is exactly the same as a value on the size chart, you may want to select one size bigger to give your toes some room. Eg. You measure your foot and it is 268mm is size which is a size 42.5. Unless you like your shoes very tight, you may wish to wear a size 43.
