Rated 5 out of 5 by from cheap mechanical caliper, but does the job! if you feel hydraulic is not the one for you, then by all means get the bb5! i have had these for at least 5 years and only now have the back caliper shown its use! with a great set up though with sintered pad which lasts longer and avid brake lever's, and a maintained brake inner cable you cant go wrong. Getting in pads may be a struggle some times, but all the effort is well worth the stopping power. The only problem really is adjusting so when the pads wear out you can turn the dial so the pads are closer to the disc rotor, but this can be a pain, spesh with the wheel spokes being in the way to turn the dial sometimes, but with sintered brake pads....this shouldn't be done that often. If old is a problem then go for the newer ones which are the bb7, something in time i may consider.

Does this come with rotor, bolts, etc ?

Do these have the IS mounting bracket included? Do these have 160mm rotors included?

The image shows with the international standard mount attached to the caliper, but only reference is made to the post mount in the description.

IS Mount

Will these calipers fit to IS mounts front and rear with the supplied parts?

The black adapter on the caliper in the product image is the adapter to allow the brakes to be fitted to an IS mount on the frame.

Do these come as a pair ? and are cables included ?

Can be used with existing v-brake levers?

As this is a mechanical caliper (it seems) can my existing v-brake levers and cable be used with it? They are standard Shimano Alivio levers (all be it from 2001!). Fork has mounts for it so that's not an issue.
