For their Mille GT Waist Cycle Shorts, Assos start with their comfortably compressive, Type.429 Titanio fabric. This 4-way stretch textile ensures a brilliant fit with optimal flexibility for all-day pedalling comfort. It's at the waist where inferior shorts fall down but the Mille GT Half Shorts excel. The waist design features super-soft Aerofit fabric in a fold-over construction to the front, delivering incredible pressure-free comfort across the stomach. At the back, a tall elastic hem, with silicone grippers, holds the shorts firmly in place - no annoying slippage here. Talking of slippage, the superFlat leg grippers also ensure the shorts don't move, no matter how hard you're pedalling.
Next comes the seat pad and here you'll enjoy the support of Assos' Mille Evo pad. The 8mm of memory foam is combined with a 3D waffle top sheet, 3 layers of perforated foam, to give the sit bones precise support while reducing bulk and enhancing breathability. Meanwhile, kraterCool ventilation holes in the pad keep air circulating to keep sensitive areas cooler. With goldenGate technology you'll also enjoy optimal freedom of movement for smooth pedalling.
Assos are one of the world's pioneers and specialists in producing high quality cycling clothes and accessories. They are located in a region of Switzerland that has maintained a long standing tradition in first class textile engineering. In the 1970's, Toni Maier-Moussa, founder and chairman of Assos accidently invented lycra cycling clothing, whilst trying to create the ultimate bicycle. During the wind tunnel tests of the first ever carbon-fibre bike, Toni inadvertently found that lycra downhill ski racing suits had much less drag than the woolen-knitted cycling clothes of the time. To this day Assos firmly believe in total product competence, delivering optimum function and comfort, by researching and making its cycling clothing and accessories from the very best materials.
