Ultimate Winter Tights- Warmth without Bulk
Technological Engineering
Developed by the Assos in-house test team, and based on their revolutionary S7 insert, they have worked to create the ultimate winter tights. With outstanding technical features they will make you rethink your definition of Bonka performance. Keep riding even on the coldest days!
The construction
At the centre of the LL.bonkaTights is a membrane that has been added to the full length of the tights for added protection against the coldest weather Mother Nature can throw at you. For maximum insulation Assos use the heaviest version of their RX material throughout the tights. On top of that, to protect you from those frequent autumn and spring showers, there is a WR (Water Resistant) treatment on all the material to shed water and keep you riding longer.
By inserting a panel of Stratagon windblock fabric between the crotch and abdomen panel of the tights, this cold-sensitive area is protected from wind chill, reducing the need to urinate on those cooler rides. Assos call this blasenSchutz!
To round off the ultimate protection you will find a second layer of Statagon ultra on the knee, thigh and hip areas. By strategically placing this breathable material here, which is a great barrier against the cold, Assos have maximised insulation while minimising bulk.
Anatomically cut
To make sure that they fit perfectly, Assos have redesigned the rear knee portion of the tight. Tapered, with multiple panels and made from RX Light fabric, this new, more elastic and breathable area makes the legs noticeably more comfortable.
Cento insert with goldenGate
Building on the success of the S7 shorts, Assos have developed all of their latest tights around this platform. As long distance tights, they added the cento insert, giving you the added benefits of extra S7 comfort.
Integrated Pad Protection (IPP) is a patent-pending technology used at the front of the short. Instead of sewing the insert directly to the fabric, it continues to the panel end. This provides an extended layer of protection without seams in the front area - another step towards total comfort!
waterBarrier protection
Spray from the road is a pain in the winter months, Assos have added their waterBarrier to the bottom of these tights. Anatomically cut, it is an essential section of ASSOS exclusive Type.009 material that repels water. With a loop-free foot construction, this material also ensures that the legs stay perfectly in place.
Reflectors
Winter rides often start or finish when light levels are low, so you will find large asymmetric reflector at the back of each leg for increased visibility.
Assos are one of the world's pioneers and specialists in producing high quality cycling clothes and accessories. They are located in a region of Switzerland that has maintained a long standing tradition in first class textile engineering. In the 1970's, Toni Maier-Moussa, founder and chairman of Assos accidently invented lycra cycling clothing, whilst trying to create the ultimate bicycle. During the wind tunnel tests of the first ever carbon-fibre bike, Toni inadvertently found that lycra downhill ski racing suits had much less drag than the woolen-knitted cycling clothes of the time. To this day Assos firmly believe in total product competence, delivering optimum function and comfort, by researching and making its cycling clothing and accessories from the very best materials.
