Rated 5 out of 5 by from They spin and seem robust Bought these for winter training, they appear to be a bargain. Hub is easy to service, not the lightest of wheels but not an issue for me at this price. I've done about 500km on them before packing them away for 'summer' they've performed as well as my old aksium elites, in fact they've remained in tune whereas I'd would have been tuning the mavics by now. Well packaged with spare spokes and a spacer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Post- pinch puncture performance Pinch punctured in rear wheel after about 600 km. Buckle was barely perceivable (not severe enough to true) but the join in the rim has widened a little on both sides compared to the front rim.and is noticeable through the build up of brake pad residue in the join on the braking surface, and a white margin on the dark rim surface. The pinch puncture in the tube was almost opposite the valve so the impact was close to the join, but perhaps the widening of the join could have also been produced (or was exacerbated) whilst rolling to a stop. Previous pinch punctures on old (early 1990s Mavic MA40 rims) resulted in flat spots on the rims but no separation in the join. The damage to the rim wasn't noticeable at first and the wheels have been ridden a further 200 km without problems and without the widening in the join worsening.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice wheels but bearing life very short Bought these wheels as a replacement for aksiums on my winter bike. All was good to begin with but after 200 miles the bearings in the front wheel seized up. On investigation the bearings seals were intact with no evidence of water or dirt penetration and after flushing with degreaser they were still notchy. The wheels came with warranty but to claim on this they need to be returned which is a bit of a hassle with no box or packaging to hand. Wiggle were sold out of replacement R030 bearings (might be a clue here) but maintained their first class customer service by offering to cover the cost of bearings from another supplier which I have now fitted and all is good. The bearing part number is stamped on the seal and they are widely available.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last a month Very disappointed with this product, having fitted these rims late Dec the rear wheel has snapped a spoke already (without sight of a pothole), I am now informed that the rear rim has twisted and has a flat spot Great!!!!!! I knew it was a risk buying cheap budget wheels but I would have expected more than a month out of them.

Are those strong enough for gravel riding?

I am looking for a first tubeless set for gravel riding. Are those wheels strong enough for forest paths with roots, sand and rocks? I am a bit worried that there are only 20/24 spokes. My weight is 75-80 kg Also would I be able to use them with Schwalbe G-one Allround 35c tires?

What tyres would you recommend for a good fit in these rims?

If I got these wheels I would consider 28mm and 32/35mm tyres, different bikes.
